Treated Right is a project started by Cambridge students to stand against human trafficking and exploitation by raising money and awareness. The group aims to do two things:
Raise money: This happens primarily through a weekly baking scheme – at the moment each of the 10 bakers on the team has committed to providing a weekly baked treat for 10 friends during term time, in return for £10. All the money raised from this goes to 3 selected charities which are supporting people affected by either trafficking or sexual exploitation.
Grow in understanding: We’re also hoping to provide an insight into the exploitation which goes on in trafficking and in the sex trade, and to understand both the problems and some of the potential solutions. Our weekly blog section ‘Food For Thought’, offers either a reflection, article or story to help unpack some of the issues at hand.
